Conference• PastWithin the framework of the LATAM Conference, a diplomatic discussion dedicated to Latin American–German relations was held at the Embassy of Mexico in Germany
. The event focused on the themes of international cooperation, regional perspectives, and the future of relations between Latin America and Germany. The discussion was attended by several ambassadors of Latin American countries accredited to Germany. The diplomats exchanged wide-ranging views on strengthening political dialogue between the two regions, economic partnership opportunities, the development of diplomatic ties, and future directions for regional cooperation. Musabey Babayev, the director of the "Strategic Discourse" Student Diplomacy Center, also participated in the meeting.

The 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13) was held in Baku from May 17 to 22, 2026. Within the framework of the forum, international meetings, panel discussions, and roundtables were organized on the topics of urban planning, climate, and urbanization. Laman Bakuvi, Chief Advisor of the Strategic Thinking Student Diplomacy Center, participated in the forum and delivered speeches on "Strengthening the Role of Youth in Urban Planning and Development Processes" and "Active Participation of Youth in Sustainable Urban Planning Policy, Decision-Making, and Implementation."

Discussion Held on "Inclusive and Digital Water Management Policy for Sustainable Urban Development" On May 18, 2026, the "Baku Politologists Club" hosted an event titled "Inclusive and Digital Water Management Policy for Sustainable Urban Development" in the NGO Agency's pavilion at the "WUF13 Urban Expo". Sustainable development researcher and scientist Elshan Ahmadov delivered a presentation highlighting the benefits that contemporary inclusive and digital approaches bring to urban development, environmental sustainability, and the optimization of water management. Key examples from international practices were also showcased during the event.

A broad-format meeting was held on the topic "The Future of Peace in the South Caucasus," organized by Movlan Huseynov, Senior Advisor of the "Strategic Thinking" Student Diplomacy Center and Chairman of the UNEC Diplomacy Organization, with the participation of Ramil Isgandarli, Head of the National NGO Forum.

Musabey Babayev, Director of the "Strategic Thinking" Student Diplomacy Center, participated in an event titled "Brazil: a strategic partnership for Germany in times of geopolitical uncertainty." The event was jointly organized with the Institute for Latin American Studies of the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) and held at the Brazilian Embassy in Berlin. In his opening remarks, the Ambassador highlighted the MERCOSUR-EU agreement, the Hannover Industrial Fair (HANNOVER MESSE)—where Brazil serves as the partner country this month—as well as the opportunity to better utilize the economic complementarity potential between Brazil and Germany through Brazil's new industrial policy. He also noted the importance of bilateral cooperation at institutional and academic levels during times of geopolitical instability. The Ambassador and other participants discussed opportunities and challenges in areas such as trade diversification, sustainability, security, and multilateralism. The program also included a speech by Professor Dr. Merike Blofield, Director of the GIGA Institute for Latin American Studies, and two panel discussions: The first panel, moderated by Uta Knott, Head of the Latin America Department at the Federation of German Industries (BDI), was dedicated to economic relations between the two countries. The second panel, moderated by Professor Dr. Christian von Soest, Head of the GIGA Berlin Office, focused on the political context of Germany-Brazil relations. The discussions featured the Ambassador, Dr. Ursina Krumpholz (Head of the Latin America Division at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy - BMWE), Dr. Malu Gatto (Researcher at University College London - UCL), as well as other GIGA experts. Among the guests were representatives of development cooperation foundations, academic institutions, civil society organizations, members of the diplomatic corps, and business circles.

On March 26, a conference titled "Security in Syria: Nationwide stabilization or further escalation of violence?" was held at the Berlin office of the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA). Speakers: Dr. Muriel Asseburg: Senior Fellow at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin. She conducts research on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Syria, and Europe's Middle East policy. Dr. André Bank: Senior Research Fellow at the GIGA Institute for Middle East Studies in Hamburg. He focuses his research on authoritarianism and conflict dynamics, mainly regarding Syria. Farhad Ahma: Head of the non-governmental organization "PÊL-Civil Waves," which aims to strengthen the role of various social groups, particularly youth and women, in the political, social, and economic life of Syria Moderator: Dr. Christiane Fröhlich: Senior Research Fellow at the GIGA Institute for Middle East Studies and Head of the "Peace and Security" research program at GIGA.Musabey Babayev, Chairman of the Board of the "Strategic Thinking" Student Diplomacy Center, also participated in the conference.
